Mission Assurance a Proven Success

With the successful launch of DIRECTV 7S by Sea Launch today, Arianespace and its partners in the Launch Services Alliance have proven that mission assurance is a reality.

“We congratulate our partners at Boeing Launch Services and the entire Sea Launch team on today’s successful launch of DIRECTV 7S,” said Jean-Yves Le Gall, CEO of Arianespace. “In a few short months, we have worked together and accomplished our goal of providing unrivaled service and on-time launch to our customer.”

The launch was originally foreseen at the end of 2003 on Ariane 5, which created a scheduling conflict with the Rosetta scientific mission.

Arianespace was able to provide DIRECTV with its desired launch slot thanks to the July 2003 agreement that founded the Launch Services Alliance.

The Launch Services Alliance allows customers securing new contracts to ensure on-time launches with any of the three providers, Arianespace, Boeing Launch Services and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, from the outset of a campaign providing dual or triple integration and dedicated launch slots.

This unique offering provides satellite operators with unmatched mission assurance and customer service from the world’s leading launch services providers.
