At the Farnborough international air show, Arianespace has reaffirmed its position as the benchmark launch service provider for European governmental observation and communications satellites.

With Europe currently involved in several military communications satellite projects, Arianespace offers a range of launch vehicles that guarantees the timely launch of these spacecraft at competitive prices.

NATO recently recognized the expertise offered by the European space industry, and in particular the British Skynet, the French Syracuse and the Italian Sicral systems for its NATO Satcom Post 2000 capability.

Following the perfect launch on July 17 of the world’s largest communications satellite – Anik F2 for North American operator Telesat – the Ariane 5 launcher has confirmed its technical and operational maturity. With Ariane 5 and Soyuz, Arianespace offers proven ability to handle all types of missions, from the launch of scientific spacecraft into special orbits, to the launch of large payloads into geostationary orbit.

Arianespace has been chosen by today’s leading operators, both commercial and governmental, implicit recognition of a launch service that fits customer requirements to a “T”.

“Our participation in this year’s Farnborough air show emphasizes our commitment to serving the European defense sector,” said Jean-Yves Le Gall, Chief Executive Officer of Arianespace. “The Ariane launch system has fully met its assigned political and strategic objectives, giving Europe independent, competitive and timely access to space.”
